Bring it On!

Have you heard? My NC State Wolfpack beat the Miami Hurricanes yesterday, 38 to 28! Wheee! This means a bowl game for my team for the first time in several years and they are thrilled. We are thrilled! Brent and I sat in a cold, misty rain to watch the game, but it didn't really matter. Well, it did matter, but it was easier because we won and because the game was so exciting.

I am in love with the Cameo Coral/PTI Aqua Mist color combo. When I find a dp that works with it, I get so tickled. This new dp is perfect, I think. So I brought out my new Whipper Snapper snowman and brought him into the color scheme.

We don't get a lot of snow here in NC, but I lived in Nebraska for 17 years so I know snow. I do love it, but seeing this guy with his shovel reminds me of all of those mornings I spent digging out the car so I could go to work. Oh brother, I do not miss that!

Hey, if you're still reading this (Thanks!!), have I got an invitation for you! Emily at Stamping Bella is celebrating her two year anniversary this month and we are celebrating with her. The monthly Bella Bash will be on Friday, Dec. 5 and there will be games, challenges, and big prizes. The usual prize is a $20 credit in Em's store, but the prizes for these challenges will be a $50 credit! Isn't that awesome?! We hope to see you on the Forum that night. The party starts at 7:30 CST.

Happy Cupcake Day and a Sweet Surprise

Happy Cupcake Day! I hope you had the day off of work today, I know I enjoyed my day off! For the very first time, I ventured out on Black Friday. I was amazed at all of the people and I don't know that I would ever try it again, but I did find what I was looking for, so I'm happy about that.

This afternoon, I had such a nice surprise. One of my favorite stamp artists, Gretchen, aka Chichiboulie, posted a couple of my cards, as well as cards by one of my favorite Bella stamping sistahs, Marjorie, on her web site. Wasn't that sweet? Stamping is such a circle-- she seems happy that we're using her stamps and we are so happy to have her stamps her to use! I love that! I'll be happy to have more of her stamps too! :) Bring them on!

Tomorrow is a big day for NC State Wolfpack fans. You see, we beat those Tarheels last week. Oh, I still love typing that... sigh... And, tomorrow, if we beat Miami, we will go to a Bowl Game. That's amazing to me considering that we had such a rough start. Brent and I will be going to the game which starts at noon. He's hoping that we win, of course, and he wants to go to a Bowl Game in DC. I would love it for our boys. But the good news is that we beat the Tarheels. Did I say that already? :)

What's for Dinner?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of the American Bella sistahs! I thought about using ChefaBella today, but this image is really more autobiographical of me on Thanksgiving! LOL!! I am whatever the opposite of being a cook is, truly.

Of course, I had to use Pumpkin Pie as one of the color challenge colors. Then, as I was looking though my dp stash, I found this awesome SU paper, Washington Apple, that has Pumpkin Pie on it. So the other two colors have to be So Saffron and Red Riding Hood.

I have been adding a twist to the color challenges because I think it's a lot of fun. This week, I thought I'd make it a simple, optional twist. I almost always color my Bellas with Copic Markers. So, this week, I colored Grumpabella with watercolors. My challenge to you is to try to color your image with a medium that you don't always use, not your routine choice. Try it if you want to!

Wherever you and your family are today, I hope that your holiday is a wonderful one!

Bitty Sunflower

I have so many stamping things I should be doing tonight, but I really wanted to play with this Bitty Bloom some more. Specifically, I wanted to watercolor her. So I opened up the sketch challenge and went to work. I think these Bitty Blooms are too cute!

Florida Dreams

You know what I love about Stamping Bella stamps? It's the variety! One minute, I can be stamping the woman-for-all-seasons, the Bella herself, and the next minute I can be coloring sweet fairies and frolicking children. And then, just when you think you've seen it all, Emily pulls out a group of snowmen and plants and purses...well, I could go on and on.

If you know me, you know I love the beach! Emily's latest release had several beach-related stamps and, of course, I had to have them all. Tonight, I turned Jamie's awesome sketch into this masculine card. It's just another wonderful look from Stamping Bella.

If you haven't heard, Emily has done it again! Wait, Christy has done it again! Okay, Emily and Christy have done it again! Check out the new series of stamps by Christy, our very own Tiddly Inks on Emily's blog and then check out the blog candy Christy is offering on her blog!

Upcoming Blog Candy Contest!

ETA: The contest is up and running and the prize is unbelievable! Check it out for yourself!

Check out this announcement from our own sweet Tiddly Inks!

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what she's got up her sleeve!

Another Holiday Tilda

These new Christmas Tildas are starting to put me in a holiday mood. They are such fun to color and play with! I broke in another set of new nestabilities on this card. They're all going to be useful, but I can myself using the pinking circles the most.

I have been fighting a nasty cold. I missed work Friday and am still not up and running today. It's really hard for me to miss church. I'll miss being with the babies in the nursery and being in the service, but I have to be honest and say that today I'll really miss the sports talk. You see, yesterday my NC State Wolfpack beat the Carolina Tarheels. I mean, they really beat them!, 41 to 10 and it never really was a game. At my church, as in my office, we are way outnumbered by Tarheel fans and I get so tired of their pity during basketball season. I can't stand not being there today! I am so proud of those boys and of our new coach. Oh boy!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Say Cheese!

Last week, I was posting the color challenge from sunny Florida. What a difference a week makes! The colors for this week's challenge are Mellow Moss, Bordering Blue, and Really Rust. To twist this week's challenge, I asked the sistahs to use more than one image on their card. I chose to use SayCheeseaBella and Jump for Joy on my card.

Grateful For Tiddly Inks

Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited about the Bella Bash tonight! Here's my card for Sparkle's challenge. Sparkle asked us to make a card for someone that we're grateful for, using an embellishment that we're grateful for. I knew what to do right away!

A few weeks ago the adorable Christy, aka Tiddly Inks, sent me her original watercolor for Fabby. I was so honored! When I opened the package, I found a print of Kissieface (along with some other sweet art goodies) included in the package. Oh my, isn't that the nicest thing?! I love those pictures. I've had them framed, along with a watercolor that I bought from Christy, and they are hanging in my stamp room. I do love having her inspiration around me.

Christy shared a bit of trivia with me. The Kissieface image is based on Em and Ryan! Awww....I love that! So, I knew I wanted to make a card for my sweet husband, because I'm so grateful for him. And, I even copied Christy's color scheme. Then I used the embellishment I am most grateful for...buttons! Are you surprised? :)

Come Into my Garden

How much do you love these stamps?! I can't stand it!

Tonight is the Gobblin' Good Bella Bash and Laura is the hostess for the first challenge. Laura challenged us to use our favorite Bella stamp on a card. Oh my, how could I choose? I decided to go with my new favorite series of stamps, the Bitty Blooms by the lovely Chichiboulie. Of course, I couldn't just pick one of those , so I went with all of them! I have a tough time making choices!

It felt good to get back to work today. I almost couldn't remember my routine, but it came back to me pretty quickly. LOL!

I can't believe I've been so neglectful, but tomorrow is the Gobblin' Good Bella Bash in the Bella Forums. Join us at 8:30 EST for some chatting, challenges, and prizes. It's going to be a lot of fun! See you then!

What a Day!

I'm home! I had the most wonderful time in Florida! The teachers were great and I enjoyed the conference a lot. Then I had my first day in Disney World. Well, where has that been all of my life? Good grief! I just loved it! I am already looking into what it will take for Brent and I to get back there. :)

Then I got the mail today and found out the one of the cards I submitted to Take Ten magazine has been published in the Winter 2009 issue! Whee! This is the most exciting news for me. Oh my.

Here's the info on tonight's card:

I am having a fine time here in sunny Florida. If I had a fairy godmother, I would wish for a car, LOL! But I enjoyed my day with the teachers and I am looking forward to another good day on Friday. Teachers are such fun people!

A Bella First for Me

Good Morning from Sunny Florida! I made it here safely and I am ready to spend the day conferencing with second grade teachers. I can't imagine anything better. Well, spending the day with a bunch of Bella Sistahs, but I'll settle for this. :)

I am so happy to be hosting my first Bella Color Challenge this morning! What a big decision this was. In fact, I decided to throw a little twist in there, a twisted color challenge if you will. I chose three colors: Rose Red, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery (CTMH: Cranberry, Taffy, and Sweet Leaf). But, I also decided that I would challenge my Bella sistahs to use a Bella stamp that they have never used before. How about that? I chose Grillafella. This poor uninked stamp has finally been shown some love. I can't wait to see what you choose.

And, my news is even bigger today! Can you stand it? A few weeks ago Sparkle PM'd me with an awesome idea. She wanted to start a blog, a collection of all of the past Bella challenges. A place where Bella sistahs could find inspiration and gather creative thoughts. I love this idea! She and I have been working on it and, although we haven't posted all of the challenges yet, we are introducing it to everyone today. I'm so pleased! Here's the link! Check it out!

Once each week, one card from the Bella galleries will be chosen to be featured on the new Blog. If you'd like to be the featured stamper, all you have to do is participate in one of the posted challenges. Each Saturday, at 10am EST, we'll be scouring the galleries to find a clever and creative card to post. How's that for totally fun news? Have a great one!

Home, Tweet Home

Hey, did you notice? I made a card that reflects the correct season! That is no small feat for me. :)

First things first, I have to give a big shout out to one of my stamping idols, Tori. I picked up (is that polite for copied?) this awesome stitching idea from her blog. If you haven't visited her blog, then head on over there. Tori has such beautiful designs! I love her site! And, she is one of the Whipper Snapper guest designer for November and December so she has a lot to share with us too. Thanks for all of the stamping inspiration and the tips, Tori!

Now, on to personal stuff...are you sick of hearing about my big trip? Well, tomorrow is the big day! I am all packed and ready to fly to Florida tomorrow. Thursday and Friday will find me mingling with second grade teachers from all over Florida. And Saturday will find me with...Cinderella! Hip, hip, hooray!

And, as if that weren't enough, Thursday is my first big day on the Bella forum. I'll be hosting my first Bella color challenge that day. Stop by and take a peek at what I have in store for you.

A Bella Beauty in the Rain

Here I am confusing the seasons again! What can I say? I've been writing our April/May issues all week and it just doesn't click in with me to do Christmas cards. sigh...

But, I do like the pink and white together. This dp from DaisyBucket Designs is some of my favorite! I think I'll make Christmas cards when it's time to write December/January magazines, in June! Thanks for stopping by the blog!

This image makes me giggle. I love hegehogs anyway, but seeing them in these tutus is just too much! What a fun stamp!

Can't believe it's Sunday evening already. This is a big week for me. On Wednesday morning, I'll be flying to Florida to attend the Conference for Florida Second Grade Teachers. Second grade teachers are among some of my all-time favorite people, so I'm really excited about spending some time with them. I hope you have something great to look forward to this week!

Such a Sweet Decor!

Decorating this new image from Taylored Expressions was so much fun! I used my Stickles, Tim Holtz Stickles, Liquid Applique, and Copic Markers just the way I would use icing and candy on a real gingerbread house! Big fun!

But, I thought my house needed a resident. So I stamped the cupcake from the Sweet Celebration set, colored and cut her out (stickled the cherry of course!), and popped her next to the front door. She'd invite you in, but she's afraid she'll have to share her sweets! Thanks for stopping by the blog!

for Princess Kitty

You know how sometimes an image just grabs you? Oh, well, if you look at my checkbook you will know that happens to me a lot! LOL! But, this one especially gets my attention. My sweet niece has a kitten she named Princess Kitty. I hear that she carries her patient kitty around from room to room in whatever way she happens to get ahold of her. This image reminded me of Sarah and Princess Kitty right away!

I tried to add several other embellishments to this card, but the dp is such an explosion of color that everything seemed to compete with it. I think I'll leave it as it is for now. Hope you like it!

A Toast to Sparkle

Tonight's color challenge is the last one that Sparkle will host for us. I'm so grateful for the dedication she shows to the Bella forum. She is a talented stamper and a good friend to me and we have been lucky to have her. I made this card in honor of her love of coffee. I know she won't mind sharing the brew with this sweet Chichi! Of course, I had to add a few sparkly Bella dots to the card. Sparkle's colors were any blue, any yellow, and a light green-- I loved the freedom of this week's colors. Thanks for all of the Sparkle you brought to my Thursdays, Sparkle!

This sweet Tilda is feeling a bit patriotic today. Perhaps she's even testing the waters on the day after the big election. Or, she just loves the sea as much as I do and she's ready to do some wading! Either way, this is a lovely image and I enjoyed coloring it so much.

Love and Peace

This is a very special card. It's special because it's the first card I've made with my Hearty Tree stamp and it's special because I love sketches with circles. But the really special thing about this card is that I sliced into my last sheet of So Saffron cardstock to make it. Yikes! How did I let that happen? I was certain that I had another package, but I don't, so I placed an emergency SU order on Saturday night. What a scary feeling! I just can't have enough yellow cardstock around me, that's for sure.

I had to laugh when I was working on this. My husband just shakes his head over all of this Bella challenge talk. He's sweet and patient, but he doesn't get it. Last night, I had the laptop open with the sketch up on the screen while I was working on my card. Brent came in and said, "Hey, that looks like the diagram. I get it, sketch challenge, huh?" But, he didn't understand why I was able to choose any colors I wanted. It must sound like a foreign language to a non-SCS'er! Hope you've had a great day!
